Considering the stereotypy that the media industries have created and/or strengthened, this found footage film illustrates the many ways in which women are misrepresented in screen culture. [5 min, Video, Single Screen]

Description:

raduating this semester, going in Film Studies at Concordia next year.

Roles:

Team member of the Women in Film group, researcher and editor of the clips.

Goals: 

Show the real face of women and to prove that they are strong. Hope our film will make people think.

Jade Soucy Gaudreau

Description: 

Graduating, yay!

Roles:

Finding footage of woman sexualization and objectification in film, from 1920 to today.

Goals: 

Hoping this project shows people the evolution of the representation of women and how it's a huge part of our society.

Stacy McMilan

Description:

Graduating with the intention of pursuing a career in acting,directing and film making and then continuing my studies at NY Acting School for Film and TV.

Role:

In charge of the sound of the video and anything that is left out.

Goals:

Learn how to manage and organize exhibits.

Anna Saviolakis

Description:

Graduating at the end of the semester and looking forward to continue studying communications while taking on some personal creative projects.

Roles: 

Creating a ''zine'' to accompany the film as well as research.

Goals:

Illustrate how women have been misrepresented in the media and particularly in films and how their portrayal on screen is paralleled with their reality.

Taji Beliard-astles

Studying in the program Cinema, Video and Communications. this will be my final semester and year her at Dawson.

Roles: 

Researcher and Semi-Editor

Goals: 

Help people get a better understanding as to how women were/have been/are treated during the many different eras (1920s-present day) so that they will think more before they misrepresent them.
